Customer Review: Can't even get the story right!!!!!
In this book, Belle keeps a diary recounting the events of the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast." But the events are wrong and out of order! She writes about the romantic ballroom dance when she was in her golden gown ("I wished the evening could last forever!") then says "In the days that followed, we spent a lot of time together: feeding the birds, playing in the snow, reading books." My 6-year-old daughter, who loves the movie, was saying "But that's not what happened! They fed the birds BEFORE that! After they danced, she left to find her father!" It's just ridiculous that a respected company like Disney can't even be bothered to get the plot of its own movie right in a book spinoff. (Not to mention that Belle is presented as a simpering airhead, doodling her name and the Beast's with hearts all over her diary, instead of the intelligent young woman she is in the movie.) Disney should be ashamed of itself.
