Disney Learning: Our World
Disney Learning: Our World
Culture is an integral part of every society. From the savannahs of Africa and the rain forests of Latin America to bustling Asian cities and small European towns, people practice unique rituals, prepare their foods and build their homes in traditional ways, speak their own languages and create different types of art and music. This book introduces children to the world through the experiences of children just like them who may live in a very different way.
Customer Review: Disney characters a big distraction
My child loves to read and learn - at age 4, she would pick up encyclopedias without prompting, and then exclaim about any interesting facts. However, whenever we pick up this book, all she wants to talk about are the Disney characters, period. The format is good for comparisons between countries, but that is also its limitation - it fails to highlight the unique things about a country. It is very blend. It also only covers a few countries per continents. Half of the countries we want to look-up aren't there. We ended up just using the web. The book is also very wordy. The few times we tried to look up particular countries in this book, we felt like we had read for a long time without learning anything. It is a big "interest squasher". I love learning and I'm bored by it. It is really just a way of Disney marketing its characters. Don't buy it unless your kid won't read unless he sees a Disney characters.
Customer Review: Great pictures for little ones - - learning gem for older kids (and adults)!
This book is a book we all like to look through -- from our 2-year-old all the way up to my husband and I! I love the layout, colorful images, and fun Disney characters studded throughout. Great addition to our bookshelf!
A High School Musical Might Sound Like This (based on the Disney musical hit)
Sing the songs from Disney's High School Musical with these professionally styled background tracks! 11 tracks total: 1. What I've Been Looking For 2. Stick To The Status Quo 3. Start Of Something New 4. Bop To The Top 5. Breaking Free 6. Get'cha Head In The Game 7. I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You 8. What I've Been Looking For (reprise) 9. When There Was Me And You 10. Get'cha Head In The Game 11. We're All In This Together (contains only karaoke tracks, no guide vocals)
Customer Review: Lots of fun
I really enjoy these background tracks, they are very good renditions of the songs and sound almost exactly like the movie. the intro to "what i've been looking for" sounds a little bit choppy, but otherwise its perfect. I sing tenor and i have lots of difficulty with this music(I donk know how Zac Efron Lucas Grabeel do it), but the tracks are still very high quality and are worth every penny.
