You'll laugh as Mickey plays both roles in "The Prince And The Pauper," and similarly enjoy the two Academy Award(R)-winning shorts "Three Little Pigs" and "The Tortoise And The Hare" (Best Short Subject, Cartoon, 1932-33 and 1934). With beautiful animation, unforgettable music, and ageless themes about liking yourself for who you are and the value of preparing for the future, this collection of Timeless Tales is a must-own for every family.
Customer Review: Animated violence
I bought this for my 4 and 3 year old daughters. I know and love these stories, although I thought maybe since they were for kids, they might be "lightened up" a little bit. My kids were scared, and had a lot of questions. I think we could do without some of the violence, i.e. the killing/dying, axe throwing, etc.
Customer Review: A Pauper
This film uses the classics of the Three Little Pigs and the Tortoise and the Hare to sell a very disappointing version of the Prince and the Pauper with Mickey Mouse. It is really one film with 4 trailers. It mixes the era of Silly Symphonies with the Prince and the Pauper from 1990 which makes for a poor compilation. The P&P is half of this 58 minute disc. The earlier works show an economy of storytelling that P&P lacks.
Disney Winnie the Pooh Bath Book Toys (Disney Bath Time Bubble)
Disney Winnie the Pooh Bath Book Toys (Disney Bath Time Bubble)
A soft, stain resistant book for infants and toddlers that is perfect for bath time, playtime or anytime. Features favorite Disney characters. Non-toxic.
Customer Review: Nothing more than a picture book
We were disappointed in this book because it contains very few words. The illustrations are nice, and my son (2 years old) is a fan of Winnie the Pooh, but there was no story for me to read to him.
Customer Review: Cute but colors are bland
The colors in this book are slightly bland so my son isn't as interested in this book as he is the Einstein books or other ones with bright and vibrant colors.
Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds! Activity Book (Disney)
Get ready for some fun with your favorite secret superstar - Hannah Montana - and all her friends! Lots of cool activitites!
Customer Review: pretty lame activites and not for young girls
I was not overly impressed by the activities. Their "activities" are actually fill in the blank questions that would turn any giddy girl into a self conscious and insecure nervous wreck. Let me give you examples of questions they ask: "If I could change one thing about my appearance, it would be ?... If I could change one thing about my personality, it would be ? ... My best friend is beautiful, but she would look great with my ?..." Then they go on to give beauty tips - such as using a pumice stone for your feet, checking your blush in natural light, blah, blah, blah. I would steer tween and pre-tween girls away from this book. There is no appropriate activity for girls of any age in my opinion, but especially not for young girls who are still enjoying the care-free days of childhood. No need to rush them to the insecurities of adolescence!

Customer Review: No turn-the-page signal can be a GOOD thing!
My son loves these books (we have more than one title). I understand the frustration those who were expecting a turn-the-page signal (although no where on the book does it claim to have them), because I was also a little disappointed at the lack of this feature at first. However, if your child is very young (say, around 2 or 3), they will most likely enjoy looking at the pictures at their own pace anyway. I have found that my son doesn't follow the signals on other CDs that have them, and it just forces him to think more about keeping up with the chime than simply enjoying the story and using his imagination.
Customer Review: not happy

Customer Review: Jasmine
The last video is Jasmine and it is really good. But I was disappointed in the "read along" stories. They were just cheating from the "Cinderella II" movie that they made. Not a very good video to own.
Disney's " Toy Story " : Book of the Film (Disney: Classic Films)
Customer Review: Just o.k.
I bought this book with the hope that it could replace the videotape that my four-year old son is wearing out. He likes for me to read this book to him but he always stops me so he can fill in the gaps in this adaptation. He was especially touched by the scene in the movie where Buzz fails to fly and realizes he is a toy, but this scene is omitted from the book, so we always have to recreate it, which can be fun. Still, he was disappointed not to see it in the book and always, I mean always, asks why it was not included. The illustrations are very good; they appear to be straight from the movie but, overall, this book doesn't capture the spirit of the movie. It is a good option for travelling if you don't want to bring the video or dvd and you can act out the omitted scenes with your child.
Customer Review: I Would Say
I would say that it has bright and lovely pictures that you would love! Buy this book for your children!

Customer Review: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
In an effort to make comparisons easier, I'm consolidating three reviews for three different editions of Snow White. First, the recap: The Queen is a very vain woman, not happy to see her step-daughter's beauty eclipse her own, so when her mirror finally confirms the dreaded reality, she sends the huntsman into the woods with Snow White with orders to kill her. The huntsman can't bring himself to do it, so he warns her and tells her to run, which she does. Finding a small house, with the help of forest animals who have befriended her, Snow White cleans it up in hopes of being invited to stay. The owners of the house, seven dwarfs, find her there when they return from work and decide that she should stay - and that she should be very careful from now on. When an old woman comes to the cottage, offering Snow White an apple, she fails to see the harm until it's too late. Certain that she's dead, the dwarfs give her a coffin of glass and gold and she lies there until her prince comes and wakes her with a kiss. ISBN 0307010368 - 5 stars - Having read a number of collaborations between Disney and Golden Books recently, I'm so happy to find them back on track with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The illustrations are standard Disney, the story is complete and well told. Unlike recent reads from Disney/Golden Books, Snow White hits every important note of the original without seeming hurried. For those parents who stress about these things, there's no violence and the single presumed death is vague, to say the least. Well worth picking up for your little reader. ISBN 1845770773 - 4 stars - This edition, from the Early Readers Treasured Tales series would probably merit a 3 star review, if not for the "points to help you teach your child to read" in the front. It's such a nice addition to this average re-telling, edited by Claire Black, that it deserves a star all its own. This edition begins a little earlier than the Disney one, with Snow White's pregnant, happy mother and how she chooses Snow White's name. There are questions at the bottom of several pages ("Why was the princess called Snow White?" for example). They are unobtrusive, so they don't interfere if you just choose to read the book, but are useful for comprehension - one "point" to help a child learn to read. Some versions leave out the Queen's order to the huntsman that he must bring back Snow White's heart in a box - this one does not omit that detail, but it does leave out the Queen's death. If the heart in a box thing is something you think your child will have issues with, this isn't your edition. The illustrations here, by Eric Kincaid, are very well done and more true to the Grimms Brothers version than the Disney one. ISBN 0785310320 - 3 stars - This edition, A Little Rainbow Book, is all right but nothing special. The look of the book is clearly an attempt to look like the Little Golden Books. The cover illustration, by Kenny Yamada, is the best of the lot. The inside illustrations, by Gary Torrisi are just about average, lacking in detail and a bit boring. The adaptation by Dorothea Goldenberg is fair. The text flows well and the words are simple, a plus for young readers. Several small differences in the story made it boring for me but might appeal to others. Snow White is simply banished to the forest - there's no huntsman and no threat of death at that point. Rather than jump straight to the poison apple, the Queen tries a poisoned comb first, which is a little closer to the original tale. However, it is very strange that, after that attempt, no special warnings to be careful follow. The gold and/or glass coffin is left out here, and the dwarfs place Snow White on a bed of rose petals and moss. The Queen is not killed. Those things add up to a far less violent/scary tale but, again, they make the story boring to me. - AnnaLovesBooks
Customer Review: A perfect story for children as they learn about life
This book will delight children. There is a great deal of bright, contrasting colors and the pop-ups have a great deal of detail. The tabs also allow the reader to generate a little bit of animation, further adding to the level of interest. Of course, the story is a timeless one of despair, aid and assistance, battles between good and evil, more despair and then triumph, as Snow White, the prince and the Seven Dwarfs all live happily ever after. A perfect story for children as they begin their journey to understand what life is all about.
Disney's Greatest Pop Hits: A Decade Of Radio Singles
Disney's Greatest Pop Hits: A Decade Of Radio Singles
Customer Review: Amazing CD!!!
I had this CD years ago (you know, before iPods were big) and it got stolen along with my entire book of CDs when I worked at Disneyland. (see any irony here yet?) I kid you not, I didn't care about any CD in the entire book of 200 CDs except for this one. I have been looking for it ever since. Nowadays with the Disneymania commercial sellouts, it's hard to find good classic Disney pop singles that really meant a lot to us. This, in my mind, is one of the most meaningful and wonderful compilations of Disney love and imagination in existence, preserved with the original creators and musicians of these amazing songs. Buy this CD!!!
Customer Review: A CD that would have been great if it were complete.
I am a Disney fan. I admit it freely and without shame. So naturally when I saw this album I decided that I had to have it. It starts off great, with the modern Lion King and other Disney favorites, in all their radio version glory. Unfortunately, there is a notable gap in the playlist. The cd does not include the Beauty and the Beast duet, which is one of the best radion version Disney songs out there. And I also was disappointed to see the caliber of the songs degrade as the cd progressed. The last few songs on the cd were not worth hearing, and certainly do not deserve to be considered the Greatest pop hits. I was annoyed enough to burn the songs I liked and add Beauty and the Beast and You'll Be in My Heart from Tarzan, creating a cd that truly deserved the name Greatest Pop Hits.

Disney's Fantillusion
Customer Review: fantastic
this cd is fantastc I love the music you'll feel like your in the parade
Customer Review: main street electrical parade & fantasmic japanese style
this nighttime spectacle parade has been mesmerizing audiences since the beginning & its no wonder it has continued 2 do so 4 the past 10 years is its captivating floats combined with a fantastic music which is so fascinating!though the floats are deprived from 'fantasmic' the score is 100% original. though u will hear loads of repitition(4 the floats 2 move on)there is alot of bass/drums which make it(as the imagineers had intended it 2 b)a very grand entrance kind of music.there are some singing parts by the chorus & the characters. unlike other parade music, this one features a much lower range therefore hinting its night time presence but the addition of computer sounds like stars really enhance the whole sensory experience this is a flawless album which features disney music at its ultimate BEST!
Walt Disney's Donald Duck: The Terror of the River (Gladstone Comic Album Series, No. 2) (Gladstone Comic Album Ser. : No. 2)
Customer Review: Book Fell Apart
The outside cover and back of this paperback comic book came completely apart from the pages in about 1 hour. Now, the pages are coming apart. The same thing happened to another Donald Duck comic book we bought on Amazon. Buy at your own risk...
Customer Review: GOOD CLASSIC DONALD DUCK STORIES !
This is a good Donald Duck comic album. It's first and main story is called the Terror of the River and is about Donald and his nephews trying to fend off a pursuing "Sea Serpent" from their house boat in the Mississippi River. I thought this was a very good story. The second story is about Donald's misadventures trying to train seals when him and his nephews have a day at the beach. And the third and comical story is about Donald Duck being a camp counselor for the Junior Wood Chucks trying to show his "bravery and heroism."

Playhouse Disney 2
Playhouse Disney 2
Because parents can lug the cable box only so far, in 2001 Disney struck upon portability for its block of preschool programming with the Playhouse Disney album. It featured film clips from series like The Book of Pooh and Bear in the Big Blue House to reconnect kids with their favorite programs. The arrival of Playhouse Disney 2 should be greeted with the same giddiness and ants-in-the-pants anticipation as a new season of shows. Sure, chances are the kids for whom this disc is cued will already have caught the cooperation-themed episode of "PB & J Otter" that spawned the chirpy "All Together We Can Build It" and the multi-culti installment of Bear from which "It Takes All Kinds" was extracted, but here the lyrics come through clearer. And the rejiggered roster, which includes the Wiggles, will attract new recruits. --Tammy La Gorce
Customer Review: Great addition to my kid's CD collection...
My 4-year old son asked for this CD for Christmas after seeing it on the Amazon website. He really enjoys listening to it and asks me to put it on a lot. It's a great alternative to watching TV or DVDs. I'd recommend this to anyone who has Playhouse Disney fans in the house.
Customer Review: A Wonderful Collection of Playhouse Disney Themes and Songs
This CD starts with a characters version of the excellent theme done by the Wiggles for Playhouse Disney ("Playhouse Disney / That's where I wanna be! / Playhouse Disney / Imagine what we can learn!") It ends with a generic version and they're both great bookends for a wonderful collection of songs. This CD contains songs from "Bear in the Big Blue House," "PB&J Otter," "Out of the Box," "The Book of Pooh" and "Stanley." "Otter" and "Box" don't air on Playhouse Disney in the U.S. anymore (at least, not as of the writing of this review) and "Bear" only airs on weekends (and only the fourth season), so this is an excellent CD to get and hear songs from these shows. Now, I'll give you my favorite song on this CD from each show: Bear in the Big Blue House --- This is a hard one, because the music on this show is absolutely top-class all around. I ultimately decided on "It Takes All Kinds," a surprisingly nice song about diversity. What's even more surprising is that Bear doesn't really do much singing on this song and I generally consider him to be the best singer on the show. "What if everyone sang the sang note? / What kind of song would that be? / But it comes alive / With a third and a five / Singing in harmony!" Awesome stuff. "PB&J Otter" --- This is another very hard choice. I really like "Imaginings," but my choice is "No Place We'd Rather Be," which celebrates the greatest of the show's hometown, Lake Hoohaw. Amazing harmonies, great chorus, and just an overall wonderful song. "Out of the Box" is a series I have never seen, but would gladly if I had the chance. My favorite song from this one is "Turn a Mistake Into Something Great," which is about just that --- how to turn mistakes such as adding sugar to a bread mixture into something great --- like making cookies! "The Book of Pooh" is a Kriegman show, just like "Bear." From this one, I like the "Bluebird Song" the best. Another song with great harmonies and quite joyful. Finally, for "Stanley," it was an easy choice. "Good as Gold" is an emotional song sung by Stanley's fish Dennis about how Stanley's been such a great friend to him, but now he has to leave him. Having not seen much of the series, I don't know how this is resolved, but I got emotional just listening to it. Some of the songs on this CD may be considered a bit "PC," such as "Everyday as Earthday" from "Stanley." However, it's a nicely done song and it doesn't really encourage anything too radical. I wouldn't let this detract from it, if you're inclined to. The CD comes with an insert booklet that includes a full listing of songs and artists, artwork and brief descriptions of the songs. There's also info on the learning and skill goals of Playhouse Disney. Unfortunately, though, lyrics are not included. If you or your kids like Playhouse Disney, you'll definitely want this CD. If not, then just listen to some of the songs on here and you may be converted. Definitely some of the best music from this Disney subnetwork.

Walt Disney Productions presents The Magic Grinder (Disney's Wonderful World of Reading)
Lord Gurr is taught a lesson about greed when he takes Minnie's magic grinder.
Customer Review: Magic Grinder, help me please
When we were little, my sister and I LOVED this book. It's got dragons, magic, a mean Lord Gurr, and poor Minnie and her nephews. What's not to like? The illustrations are very colorful, too. This Christmas, I found a vintage copy of this book and gave it to my sister as a gift. She read it aloud, and it's as good today as it always was. Morals: don't be greedy; if you help people, you will be rewarded.
Disney Princess Book Bag (Bookbag)
Disney Princess Book Bag (Bookbag)
All of girls' favorite Disney Princesses come together in this fun and unique package that contains five mini coloring books, three mini sheets of stickers, and a box of crayons. Includes Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Mulan!
Customer Review: The perfect travel companion for artistic princess fans
This set is so cute and convenient. The 5 books are 3.5" x 3.5" squares and they come with a little box of 4 crayons: red, yellow, blue and green. Everything fits neatly into a little pouch that is almost as small as the book itself. You can carry them all together or one at a time. I keep atleast one in my daughter's bag so she always has something to prevent her from getting bored. She loves the stickers too.
Customer Review: I was impressed - Great mini-coloring books!
Basically this is a set of 5 mini-coloring books with Disney Princesses in them. It includes some crayons and a sheet of small stickers. I ordered a couple of these for my children and was very happy with them. The coloring books might be small but they are good-quality. The drawings for the children to color are much better quality than I would have expected. Some of the mini-coloring books actually have a story line. These bookbag sets would be great for car trips, plane trips, restaurants, etc. They wouldn't take up much room in a diaper bag or large shoulder bag. A grandmother (Aunt, penpal, etc) who is cross-country from their grandchildren could take the mini-coloring books out of the main bag and fit a couple of them into an envelope as a nice surprise. The coloring books are small so children could use them also as prop coloring books for their larger 20"-21" dolls. I have to say that as a mom and also as an admirer of miniature books, these bookbag sets are even better than I had expected. The publisher also makes other bookbag sets with different themes and I've been equally happy with any of those I've bought (Halloween, Dora, Thomas, NickJr, Christmas, etc.)
Pinocchio (Disney Gold Classic Collection)
Pinocchio (Disney Gold Classic Collection)
This Disney masterpiece from 1940 will hold up forever precisely because it doesn't restrain or temper the most elemental emotions and themes germane to its story. Based on the Collodi tale about a wooden puppet who wants to become a real boy, Pinocchio is among the most magical, mythical, and frightening films to come from the studio in its long history. A number of scenes make permanent impressions on young minds (just ask Steven Spielberg, who quoted the film more than once in Close Encounters of the Third Kind), and the songs ("When You Wish upon a Star") can't be beat. --Tom Keogh
Customer Review: Pinocchio
My granddaughter loves it. Watches it over and over again. The company said that it was in like new condition and it was. I'd buy it again.
Customer Review: Haven't received my merchandise
I ordered my DVD several weeks ago and am still waiting for it. The estimated time of arrival indicated November 3 at the latest. I also contacted the vendor, but have not received any reply. I am very unhappy at this point.

Beck and the Great Berry Battle (Disney Fairies)
As an animal-talent fairy, thereâs nothing Beck likes better than speaking Bird, or Chipmunk. So when a conflict breaks out between the hummingbirds and the chipmunks, she steps forward to act as a mediator, but nothing she says seems to help. Will Beck be able to bring peace to the animals?
Customer Review: Beck and The Green Berry Battle
A very good read for the personj it was bought for. She, my Grandaughter, was pleased with the book.
Customer Review: We LOVE this series!!!
We own all of this series! Started reading them when my daughter was 4 (she just turned 5 now), and they are age appropriate. Not too scary and always a happy ending. One book only takes us about 4-5 nights worth of reading together. The longer ones are good too "Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg" and "Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand", but they are a little bit scarrier than the short books (more appropriate for ages 5-7 I would think).

Walt Disney's Alice In Wonderland: Classic Soundtrack Series
Walt Disney's Alice In Wonderland: Classic Soundtrack Series
Customer Review: "Let's sing a song about all of us"
Alice's Adventures In Wonderland classic novel is truely one my most favorite children stories in english literature, and Disney did the story proud like no other Hollywood production ever did. The soundtrack is welcome, like so many recent Disney cd soundtracks, that they include opening credits, intro music, background melodies (that may get lost in noisy movie), occasional dialogue (to move the momentum of scene), and of course, the beloved songs Disney fans cherish around the globe. I bought this particular cd at the 20th Century Music Shop at Disneyland Main St. USA, and would like to start my own cd library of similar soundtracks from other animated movies. Highly recommended, and majestically packaged!
Customer Review: Fantastic
Another fine job at Disney Soundtrack restoration by master restoration producer Randy Thornton. He has taken music recorded in the 1940's and cleaned it up quite well. The movie's style required music that jumped out at you in short bursts and then dissapeared again, so most songs are very short in the movie. Randy tried to restore these songs to the length that they were originally recorded. The songs have a habit of jumping in and out of the underscore. Unlike many of Randy's other projects you do hear bits of sound effects now and then but rarely, most of the original material to use for this CD was lost to time and was no longer in the archives. Seven writers composed the music for the film, including the "UN-Birthday" song which was written by the songwriters that were working on Cinderella at the time. Most of the songs were composeded by Bob Hilliard and Sammy Fain. Jerry Colonna, Ed Wynn, Vera Felton, Sterling Holloway, all sung in this movie along with many more. There is a great 15 page booklet with lyrics, great liner notes, and art including the always illusive concept art that Disney history buffs treasure. Quite a few novelty songs were created for this movie at Walt's request, and the movie featured 14 original songs, the most any Disney animated film had ever had. All total the CD lists 23 tracks and 1 hour of music. Overall a gem of Disney history and very fun to listen to. Very affordable too but buy it before it goes out of release.
Walt Disney's Comics And Stories #692
When Donald's nephews take advice from a no-good bully in Carl Barks' "Swimming Swindlers," they end up playing dirty against Unca Donald in a sports contest. But the shoe's on the other foot in Mau Heymans' "Mysterious Mustachio," when everyone blames the nephews for a graffiti plague at school! Next, it's high seven seas adventure for Mickey and Professor Dustibones in the all-new "Mummy Dearest," featuring the return of the beautiful - and treacherous - pirate Lotus Blossom! Finally, Gladstone and Donald chase down lost artist Pickeasel in Cesar Ferioli's outrageous "Portrait of a Gander!"

Customer Review: Big hit, cute and lots of sing along fun!
I actually purchased this a a Christmas gift for my two nieces. They are 5 and 2 (soon to turn 3). Like most kids, anything Disney related is usually a hit. I ordered it early and after telling my brother about it he asked if they could have it early so that the girls could enjoy it through the month. You see, they love listening to CD's in the car and at home. It does have Disney twists on some of the classics -- car rides are lots of fun with everyone singing along.
Customer Review: Great Year-Round
My daughter loves this CD and enjoys listening to it year-round! Some songs are really cute while others might drive you crazy after awhile. Either way, it's sure to be a hit with any princess :)

Customer Review: Paper Doll Fairies
I couldn't quite figure out what to get my boyfriend's nieces for Christmas, then I came across this book. I thought it would be perfect for her! It's paper dolls, but with the Disney fairies that all little girls enjoy. You get to pick from a number of dresses to dress them in as well as make your own.
Customer Review: It's too small
Hi well to start I saw this on the disney fairies site and I fell in love with it. But when I got it and opened it I found this: It's really small and boring, there are only four dress designs, the flower press is made of cardboard and hard to work, And most of all IT'S TOO SMALL!!! each doll can't be more then an inch tall and there's not a lot of stuff to do. But the book was entertaining but please do not get this!!! Well gotta go hope this was helpful Brooke.
Disney's Flubber
Disney couldn't resist the temptation to remake 1961's popular comedy The Absent Minded Professor, so they cast Robin Williams as Professor Philip Brainard (a role vaguely related to the character originated by Fred MacMurray), and the result is a comedy that, frankly, doesn't fully deserve its modest success. It's admittedly clever to a point, and certainly the digitally "flubberized" special effects provide the kind of movie magic that's entertaining for kids and parents alike. The professor can't even remember his own wedding day (much to the chagrin of his fiancée, played by Marcia Gay Harden), and now his academic rival (Christopher McDonald) is trying to steal his latest and purely accidental invention--flying rubber, or ... flubber. The green goo magnifies energy and can be used as an amazing source of power, but in the hands of screenwriter John Hughes it becomes just another excuse to recycle a lot of Home Alone-style slapstick humor involving a pair of bumbling would-be flubber thieves. There's also a floating robot named Weebo and some catchy music by Danny Elfman to accompany dancing globs of flubber, but the story's too thin to add up to anything special. Lightweight fun, but, given the title, it lacks a certain bounce. Of course, that didn't stop Disney's marketing wizards from turning it into a home-video hit. --Jeff Shannon
Customer Review: poor remake
Robin Williams is a great comic talent. The Absent Minded ProfessorThe Absent-Minded Professor (Widescreen Edition) was a great movie in its day and still is a good movie today in the year 21st century. Disney studios should not try to remake great old movies with great current talents in order to make more money. This is not something that Walt would have wanted. Instead Disney studios should take the money they use to remake old hits and make great new movies.
Customer Review: Flubber
Fun and excitement throughout the movie. This will be part of a Christmas give along with the original Disney classics starring Fred McMurray.
Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids 2008 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids By Kids)
Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids 2008 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids By Kids)
Children are perhaps Walt Disney World's biggest fans. On playgrounds and in classrooms, there's always excited talk about who went to Walt Disney World and what they did each day-or minute. It has become almost a rite of passage to visit America's most popular travel destination, and kids can be wonderful sources of information. Our book is written specifically for children, who range in age from 8 to 14.
Every area and attraction of Walt Disney World is covered, with kids' honest reactions and impressions included. There is a whole chapter devoted to each of the theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, the Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Another chapter describes the rest of Walt Disney World, including Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Fort Wilderness, Downtown Disney, and dining spots with kid appeal.
The book is updated annually, and the 2008 edition features an expanded scrapbook section for kids to preserve the magical memories of their trip to WDW, as well as a handy guide to the Magic Kingdom's new Princess and Pirate parties. We've also included more tips on finding Hidden Mickeys at Walt Disney World!
Customer Review: A must
My 6 year old boy initial reaction to going to Disney World was not as enthusiastic as one would expect. being a Disney fan myself i was highly disappointed until I realized that his reaction was due to the fact that he had a blurred idea of what there is in this World. i purchased this book and read a few pages everyday to explain what he is going to see and ride. The way it is set up is very understandable to kids. Now he cannot wait to go!!!!
Customer Review: Future Disney World trip
My wife and I are planning a trip to DW with our 2 kids, her sister, brother-in-law and 2 nieces. As a gift, we bought 2 copies of this book for the kids. One for their family and one for ours. Both families really like the book and find the information helpful, but not enough pictures of everything spoken about for the kids to get really excited about.

This is a great collection of songs that are guaranteed to make kids smile and to entertain them. Very good car trip music. After a recent trip to Disneyworld, anything Disney has an immediate "plus mark" in the interested column for my daughter.
Customer Review: OMG! =)
I had the cassette when I was a little girl... my mom said I used to go to sleep to it every night. The cassette lasted for my younger sister. 20 some odd years later I still have it, although I don't have a cassette player so since I'm expecting a little girl of my own I just had to buy this one and the rest of the series... OMG listening to the samples brings back sooooo many happy memories and I still remember all of them enough to sing along - I'm giddy! I loved these songs soooo much and I know my baby will too.
Walt's People - Volume 4: Talking Disney with the Artist who Knew Him
Customer Review: It keeps getting better!
Just like the first three, we get to know who Walt really was from those who knew him best. As an aspiring animator with Disney, I grew up idoling these great animators. There work and time with Walt is one thing that I wish I had. Getting to know their work and time with Mr. Disney could not be any better written than Didier Ghez has done. For anyone who loves Disney, animation or getting to know some of America's greatest, this book is for you!
Customer Review: For Disney fans only?...Not
This edition of "Walt's People" is on a par with the last three- well chosen subjects from a variety of time periods and portions of the Disney universe. The interviewers are very knowledgeable and noteworthy as animation historians and/or Disneyfans. It is wonderful to see contempoarary animators like Eric Goldberg have some space in this series. Walt's People is not just for Disney "geeks" like myself, but for anyone interested in animation or even film, television and theme park history. I look forward to volumes 5 and beyond. An easy and informative read.

Disney's Karaoke Series: Mary Poppins
Customer Review: Could be better...and more complete.
It's great to hear the wondeful arrangements of Irwin Kostal in all their glory, but where are Mr Banks' songs? And the song at the bank is missing, too. Hopefully, Disney will release the entire score in karaoke form. Also, take out that annoying harp on the "Feed The Birds" track, it doesn't belong. Let's have the whole score...and SOON, Disney!
Customer Review: Great Fun
I got this for my girls for Christmas and we have had such a good time singing all the songs. We have even brought it in the car so they can sing along there too. The one negative thing is that my girls wished it had the nanny song sung by the kids in the movie. It still has been worth every penny spent.

Disney Discourse: Producing the Magic Kingdom (Afi Film Readers)
Disney Discourse: Producing the Magic Kingdom (Afi Film Readers)
Hirohito and his Mickey Mouse watch, Goofy and Donald as our "Goodwill Ambassadors": Disney Discourse is an interdisciplinary examination of the founder and his empire. These essays use an interdisciplinary approach to read through Disney's domestic cultural production\M"innocent" national icons, as well as theme parks, cartoons and television\Mto analyze the global impact of American popular culture, the politics of Disney, and the complex reception Disney productions have received around the world.
The Disney corporation's ever-increasing visibility\Mthe opening of Euro Disney and new stores in malls\Mand vast influence over global culture demands critical attention not only in film and television studies, but in international diplomacy, architecture, economics and other related fields. Disney Discourse consolidates the best of the current work on Disney and provides a representative sample of past analyses of the Disney empire.

Customer Review: Complicates Assumptions about Disney
Disney Discourse is a substantial contribution to the field of Disney Studies. Smoodin's collection offers a range of reactions to the different Disneys that exist: television and film, theme parks, retail, and so forth. Furthermore, this interdisciplinary work is structured in three useful ways. First, it offers some representative materials from Disney's "golden age" that tend to praise Disney (both the man and the corporation). Second, many of the essays consider the reception to Disney. Three, the book is divided into four separate categories that provide an overview of possible approaches to the study of Disney. As with any collection, not all the essays are of equal analytic strength. There are many good essays, however, particularl in the the sections entitled Cultural Production and Reception. Smoodin's own essay, "How to Read Walt Disney" is, in my opinion, worth the price of the book alone. Even essays which seem more grounded in personal reaction than critique have their worth; they demonstrate the investment individuals have in Disney as a site of debate. Overall, the result of the book's conscientious structure is to complicate any easy binaries--taken as a collection, Disney Discourse refuses to unreflectively praise Disney or, equally problematic, simply critique Disney. Instead, Smoodin's book offers Disney as a site of investigation, of exploration, and of analysis. Indeed, Disney Discourse might be better renamed Disney Discourses in order to reflect the multiple ways people have approached Disney. Though not all the essays are equally strong, the book is a "must-have" for both serious scholars and Disney enthusiasts alike.

I really don't understand the reference some have made to the BOCs and competitive carriers and wish someone would explain it to me. What does it have to do with the FCC's treatment of telecom giants? Otherwise, a classic.

The Sword in the Stone (Disney Gold Classic Collection)
The Sword in the Stone (Disney Gold Classic Collection)
Based upon T.H. White's beloved novel, this Disney-fied version chronicles the tutoring of the Once and Future King, Arthur, as handled by the magician Merlin. Sword was a portent of things to come, with slapstick upbraiding storytelling, and cultural in-jokes substituting for wonder. But there's much to enjoy here as Merlin shows Newt, the young Arthur, things that will help him become the ruler of the Britons. The transformation sequences, where the boy is turned into a fish, a bird, and a squirrel are vintage Disney. The oft-repeated scene of Merlin battling it out with the mean old Madame Mim still is worth a few chuckles, but it belies the problem with most of the film--the scenes are only there for the chuckles. References by Merlin to television and other items of modern life also mar the generally innocuous landscape. Children will like it, but they won't cherish it. --Keith Simanton
Customer Review: Scratched disc
For Christmas I bought the Sword in the Stone for my little sister. It's one of her favorite Disney movies. Unfortunately the disc was scratch and almost unbearable to watch, despite the sellers claims that it was like new and in good condition. Bummer.
