How to Be Like Walt: Capturing the Disney Magic Every Day of Your Life

How to Be Like Walt: Capturing the Disney Magic Every Day of Your Life
An inspiring biography of one of the most influential and beloved figures of the 21st century, based on more than a thousand interviews.

How to Be Like is a "character biography" series: biographies that also draw out important lessons from the life of their subjects. In this new bookâ€"by far the most exhaustive in the seriesâ€"Pat Williams tackles one of the most influential people in recent history.

While many recent biographies of Walt Disney have reveled in the negative, this book takes an honest but positive look at the man behind the myth. For the first time, the book pulls together all the various strands of Disney’s life into one straightforward, easy-to-read tale of imagination, perseverance, and optimism. Far from a preachy or oppressive tome, this book scrapes away the minutiae to capture the true magic of a brilliant maverick.
Customer Review: Being Like Walt
This book was given as a present, and it is just what the recipient wanted.
Customer Review: A feel-good and charming biography with lots of insight for living
More than a sugary biography of Walt Disney, it's an insider's look into the magic of Disney. Or rather the creation of it. Hard work, paying your dues, never saying quit are all values that make the greats great, but they defined Walt Disney, and the proof is definitely in the pudding. It makes a perfect read if you're just looking for interesting non-fiction, but a great book for anyone looking to learn some core values on the way up!

Sings Disney: When You Wish upon a Star
Customer Review: Worth the Detour
I bought this disc a decade ago and was very pleasantly surprised to rediscover it a few days ago during a ruthless triage of my CD collection. Hendricks' homage to Disney is a keeper. Here's why: 1) the orchestration is unashamedly retro, honoring vintage '40s and '50s film scoring (think Steiner, Korngold, Hermann), rendered in a gorgeous acoustic ambiance; 2)okay: the musical values are dicey--this isn't Schoenberg--but for a certain demographic in the baby boomer generation this is a completely satisfying portion of comfort food, not least because this recording captures Barbara Hendricks in what must surely be one of the most complete documents of Hendricks' beguiling sound (at its glorious peak) and interpretive wit.
Customer Review: Like going back to Disneyland
I got this album by a friend, and I must say that I was very sceptic, but I soon changed my mind. This album is just faboulus. It reminds me of the tunes one can hear at the Disney parks. Wonderfull.
