The trouble with most all-instrumental lullaby collections is that the second they're removed from their crib-side setting, they become indistinguishable from elevator music. Given that the contemporary melodies Disney chose for Lullaby & Goodnight (the Beatles, James Taylor and Cat Stevens) are adapted, the track listing alone makes it seem particularly vulnerable. But it isn't. Credit Fred Mollin, who produced and performed all 12 tracks and served as arranger on most, artfully selecting where to gently plunk a piano key and softly strum a harp along the way. Customer Review: Just perfect
We bought this CD to play in our daughter's nursery when she was born. I have never heard such a soothing, peaceful, and beautiful set of songs to play for relaxing and sleeping. Fred Mollin has taken familiar songs and made them into soft, lovely lullabies, they all sound brand-new. Each song is so simply produced, but the simplicity is what makes each song so peaceful. I still cannot listen to "Love Me Tender" with a dry eye. You will love this CD for your baby, child, and for yourself.
