Disney Princesses Look and Find (Look and Find (Publications International))
Disney Princesses Look and Find (Look and Find (Publications International))
Customer Review: Fun for your little princess
My youngest daughter received this book last year for Christmas. For nearly a year it sat in her room undisturbed. She has recently shown an increased interest in princesses (I think that's standard when you are three) and is now very much in love with this book. Each picture has a Dear Diary entry and several images that you have to look for in the picture. It's similar to a Where's Waldo book with the drawings and sometimes quirky looking pictures, but the concept seems to resemble the I Spy books more. Some of the pictures are very easy to spot everything on the list and others, like the picture for Belle are more difficult. At the end of the book there is an additional list of things to find for each picture just like you would find in the Where's Waldo series. Overall, it's a great book for a Disney Princess fan who likes to play hide and seek. My three year old delights in looking at the pictures and finding the hidden objects. I like that books like this teach her to look at the details. My seven year old likes this book, too, but I think it's a little too easy for her.
Customer Review: Great for little girls who love Disney Princesses!
My daughter loves this book! When it is reading time, she has been pulling this one out for the past few nights. Not only is it a lot of fun, but educational. You don't have to just do the look and find of what they ask but you can also do counting and have them find colors, etc...
Disney's Storybook Collection Vol.2
Customer Review: familiar
this is a good storybook for the very young (2-3 yrs) as the stories are familiar for any children that watch movies etc. Helps keep their interest. Also, the stories are a perfect length for toddlers, and not weird like so many of the fairytales (especially the creepy, original versions).
Customer Review: A Good Book
The book is good but most of the stories are the same that has appeared in many other books. After all there are only so many Disney Movies! But your children are going to love it.
Swiss Family Robinson (Vault Disney Collection)
The Disney touch is all over this grand, colorful version of the Johann Wyss adventure of a European family set off for the new world of New Guinea. The film opens on a ship jostled and torn by a raging storm while a family struggles to make it through alive. Tossed into a reef near a deserted tropical island, father John Mills takes charge and the family soon turns their island prison into a veritable paradise. Their multilevel tree house, built in record time, is complete with running water and a working pipe organ scavenged from the ship, while their grand yard is abloom in English roses. As a tale of hardship and pioneer pluck, the tale is pure fantasy, but as entertainment it's energetic and appealing. The island is impossibly populated by ostriches, zebras, lions, and elephants, a private zoo that delights the youngest boy and offers plenty of comic relief. The two older brothers discover even wilder life when they rescue the prisoner of oriental pirates (led by hard-bitten Sessue Hayakawa). There's little real danger anywhere in the film--even the climactic battle with the pirates is a cartoonish affair, with coconut bombs and nonlethal booby traps, until the final desperate, deadly moments. Hardly a faithful adaptation of the novel, but a lush, beautifully photographed film and an entertaining adventure safe for all ages. Dorothy McGuire costars as the proper, worry-prone mother. (Ages 5 and older) --Sean Axmaker
Customer Review: Still a great family adventure film!
I watched this as a young girl. I bought it for my 6-year-old who is into Ben 10 and Pokemon, etc. It competes very well with today's shows. The adventure never stops. There are pirates, all kinds of animals, and lots of family themes. The ending is the best. The pirates attack again, but this time the whole family has set booby-traps. It is terrific. There is never a dull moment.
Customer Review: Fond childhood memories
I bought this for a nephew for a Christmas gift. While pondering what to give him, this just popped into my head. As a child, I absolutely loved this movie. And since my nephew is into adventure, pirates, etc I thought it would be a good one. And it was. He really enjoyed the movie and I got to see it again as we made him watch it immediately!! It was just as great as I remembered it and I got to get a peak from a 10 yr old's perspective. I think what most impressed him was the tree house. To anyone who buys this: The movie is 'based' on the original. This is a Disney version of the book. I have not read the classic version; but this one is wonderful for children and adults alike.
